An Authentic Woman – A Woman In Control

“26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

God has made every human being for a purpose and He has the blue print of every one in His plan. It is impossible to be who God has designed you to be without allowing Him to take full control of your life. If you worry now till Kingdom come about a situation, your worries and anxiety will not change anything except undue stress that will make you to be discouraged to move forward and rule over your challenges. A woman is more prone to anxieties because she reacts emotionally to things more often while a man is ruled by logics.

It is normal for a woman to feel overwhelmed at times believing that life has been so unfair due to an unending responsibilities facing her. But she needs to remember that no man or woman can prevail by the arm of flesh. It is not the plan of God for you to lose your mind or be disoriented by what is facing you. However he wants you to learn the act of being in control by depending on him as opposed to taking steps out of emotional turmoil.

As a woman, it is very important not to be overruled by emotions because there is tendency for the enemy to capitalize on that to make you take decisions which are contrary to the plan of God for your life. When you get carried away by situations and circumstances around you, you tend to lose that God’s given ability to pay attention to little details which can make you pick the tricks and antics of the enemy. Keep your focus on God and not on what people think about you, pay more attention to what God thinks of you in every decision and step that you take. Be wary of how the enemy may want to manipulate you by playing with your emotions to jettison your relationship and rob you of your God given opportunities. Go to God in prayers without ceasing until you are fully persuaded and convinced of the way to go. Friendship with the world is enmity with God, seek and pursue the things that will make you to be at peace with God. The bible says we should follow peace with all men.

Sometimes your action as dictated by the leading of God might put you at a distasteful position with some people but you must learn to put God first that is when you can actually be in control to pursue His agenda for your life. Naturally, a woman has been wired in a way through her Godly endowed capacity to be able to take note of little details that a man can easily overlook. This trait is even more heightened in a Spirit-filled woman. That is the reason a woman must not give room to distractive ventures that can deaden or reduce the potency of her God-given sensitivity. It has to be kept potent and charged up by developing deep fellowship with God through prayers, meditation and by studying/listening to God’s word. It is important for a woman to be in control of the issues facing her so that she can play her given role of inducing emotional and psychological support for her family. By the virtue of the kind of responsibilities of a woman in the family, the family system is more susceptible to disruption when a woman loses her calm.

Things easily tend to go into disarray very fast when a woman gets overwhelmed by what is facing her, the entire fabric of her family gets impacted when things are out of control for a woman. A woman is more emotionally there to support the family. That is why it is very rare for a woman to walk away forgetting about the husband and the children. You can only be in charge when you have a continuous discovery of who you are in Christ when you are not given to the dictates of what life and the people around you are presenting to you. You must be confident of who you are in the Lord and also acknowledge on a continuous basis that you cannot pull through as a woman without depending on the wisdom of God. A woman is faced with so many things competing for her attention on a daily basis, every day comes with its own challenges and therefore it requires fresh wisdom and strength to tackle.

That is the reason why a woman cannot afford not to have that conscious effort to walk with God on a daily basis otherwise your strength will not carry you through and you will just see yourself falling apart like a pack of cards. A woman has to stay strong for her husband and children as a help meet ordained by God. Seek God in your wilderness so that you can find green pasture in the desert and an everlasting stream of living water in your dry areas. Stop all the lamentation and be strong as you believe God to bring surplus in the face of nothingness to shield you from heat and bring succor to you on every side. Whosoever that put his trust in God is never ashamed. Ride upon the wings of the wisdom of God and His guidance as you grow into the real woman after God’s own heart.

Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work. Nehemiah 2 vs 17:18

After 45 days of waiting upon the Lord this year, the Lord God spoke to me that it is the set time to arise and build the ruin places that has been broken down.

The responsibility of transforming the life of people in a nation must be the priority of every believer. Jesus is the master builder of his church but it is our sole obligation to make that difference in our populace.

The Prophetic Release Conference is not just about the declaration of prophecy; it is also a channel to unleash the voice of transformation to the people in our community and the nation at large.

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:18-19

We must understand that there is a “war of words” moreover, words can stand against the kingdom of darkness, for the world was framed by word of God.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:3″

It implies that we must take charge by taking the right step to build the destiny of people and the community of our place of calling. An angel will not come to help us to do it; we must rise up above limitations and sentiment and take hold of our assignment even as Jesus witness on the earth.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1vs 8

The reason for salvation is not about what God can do for us, but what he can do through us by building a kingdom of the people of God who are holy, righteous and ready to make the difference here on earth.

In His likeness

God is intentional in all his ways, which is the reason for creating man in His image and likeness. Therefore it is imperative for us to walk and manifest the
reality of His character and deeds.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1vs26.

God’s intention is for you to reflect his nature here on earth, because when you see a shadow, the original image is not far away. We are joint heirs with
Jesus Christ, we are members of God's family. Your lifestyle must show who you are in Christ Jesus if you have been redeemed by His blood.

God desires an intimate fellowship with us every day, it is through this that we are being transformed into his likeness and image.

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2Corintians 3vs18.

We become different from the people of the world because we have been changed into His likeness. Therefore we have dominion over sin, sickness, poverty and all forms of demonic afflictions.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Psalm 82vs6.

We are mandated to resemble Him and exhibit His character in all things as light and salt of the world. The Lord God told me that the church must arise to
her responsibility of dominating and dictating the direction of things in the world. We must step out of our comfort zone from within the four corners of
the church and reflect the light of His likeness to subdue all the activities of darkness that has covered the earth.

What must we do to be in His likeness?

For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Romans 6vs5

We must be dead to our old nature and lifestyle. There must be a difference between your new life in Christ Jesus and the old lifestyle that depict sinful life like pride selfishness, lying, anger, fornication, adultery, malice, envy and covetousness.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2corintians 5vs17

It is only those that are dead to all the craftiness of the old nature of the flesh that are made in His likeness. It is only those that are dead to self and lost their will for his will that will have an assurance of His presence in their lives. You must be ready to make sacrifices by paying the price of standing for the truth, dying to self and giving it all to be raised with Jesus Christ in glory and power.

Understanding Spiritual Warfare

[8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [9] Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

1 Peter 5:8-9 KJV

Introduction: The word of God is ever true and a child of God should, by design, have no problem accessing the blessings of the word and the fruits of salvation. However, things do not always come easy because of certain forces that obstruct our flows. This is what makes spiritual warfare necessary.

What is spiritual warfare?
Let me use the experience of Daniel to explain this. You can read the story in Daniel 10. Daniel set his mind to seek God by prayer and fasting to gain an insight into the vision he had. Daniel’s voice was heard in heaven and an angel was sent to respond to him but the response was delayed by the forces of darkness for twenty one days. Let us read the account of the angel: Daniel 10:11-13 KJV

[11] And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling. [12] Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. [13] But the prince of the kingdom
of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

If Daniel had not persisted in prayer for a long time, he would have lost the blessings.

Spiritual warfare is the battle raised against the forces of darkness that would want to hinder our spiritual flow or obstruct the physical manifestation of our God given blessings.

When is spiritual warfare necessary?
The devil does not want anyone to serve God so spiritual warfare is necessary if we are to live a life pleasing to God. It is through spiritual warfare that we overcome sin. The devil is labeled as the accuser of the brethren – he lures people into sins and turns round to present a charge against them before God. “….for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” Revelation 12:10b. He accused Joshua the high priest before God.

Zechariah 3:1 KJV

[1] And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and
Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.

We need spiritual warfare to make heaven. Moses was a man after God’s heart. He was on assignment for God but was stopped because of his unbridled anger orchestrated by the devil. When he died, the devil demanded for his body. Moses would have ended in hell but for the merciful intervention of God. Jude 1:9 KJV

[9] Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

We need spiritual warfare when engaging in soul winning which is our statutory assignment. If you are not winning soul as you should, it could be the devil creating distractions. Consider the experience of Paul: Acts 16:17-18 KJV

[17] The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. [18] And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

How to Fight Spiritual Warfare
In intercessory prayer, the focus is on God who answers all petitions. However, spiritual warfare is different! Here, we focus on the devil, not with a plea but with belligerence and intransigence. We resist him and push him off the tracks in prayer. We must know when the enemy is oppressing us and we must rise to fight.
To be effective in warfare, we need to put on the whole armour as espoused by Apostle Paul: Ephesians 6:11,13 KJV

[11] Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. [13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

The whole armour consists of the belt of truth. Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6) and it is through Christ that we draw the strength to face all battles (Philippians 4:13). We need the girdle of Christ to overcome the devil (1 John 3:8). Another element in the whole armour is the breastplate of righteousness. You have to be above board if you desire to win over the devil. Personal righteousness may not be enough but you need the imputed righteousness of Christ. The third element is the “feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace”.

This relates to your involvement in soul winning which makes the heavens to support you because you make the hosts of heaven glad. The fourth is the shield of faith without which you cannot overcome the devil. Your faith in God must be strong. The fifth is the helmet of salvation. You must be sure you are born again before you face the devil successfully. And lastly, you need the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. With this, you are able to defend yourself and attack the devil simultaneously.
